I am currently on the road as part of the VIA Rail Artist On Board program performing sets for travelers from Toronto heading out east in Canada. Should be a great time.
Also I recently won recogition from none other than Johnny Depp through his People's Artist competition, an initiative run in partnership with The Art of Elysium. Here is some information about that!
Chris Birkett, a multi-instrumentalist known for producing hit records for Sinéad O'Connor ("Nothing Compares 2 U") and Buffy Sainte-Marie, was selected as a top competitor in the contest and received awards and recognition directly from Depp.
While Depp is more widely known for his acting, he is a dedicated musician and songwriter who plays guitar and sings in the supergroup Hollywood Vampires fronted by Alice Cooper and including Joe Perry from Aerosmith. He created The People's Artist initiative to provide a creative platform for independent musicians and artists. Birkett has been actively releasing his own insightful original music, using the platform to share his distinctive blend of rock, pop, and world music.
